My Introduction
About Me
I am a pianist and vocalist trained in Serbia (Eastern Europe) and in the US. I earned my Doctorate at the University of Maryland and went on to work with the LA Opera and LA Philharmonic. Currently, I am a vocal coach, an accompanist, and a voice teacher at CalArts University and at UCLA.
Me as a Teacher
I approach each student individually and holistically, from a personal, artistic, and technical standpoint. I work on issues at hand never losing sight of the big picture.
My Teaching Style
I am encouraging and demanding, but from a perspective of believing in my student’s abilities and potential. I have a lot of tolerance and understanding, and I will find a way to bypass any resistance and motivate a student to find their own inspiration and drive, or to continue with the focus they’ve already built, as applicable.
