Juan Manuel Guevara, Conductor | Double Bassist | Professor. Juan Manuel Guevara is a multifaceted musician whose career spans prestigious stages worldwide. A proud alumnus of Venezuela's renowned "El Sistema," he has performed in iconic venues like Carnegie Hall, Berlin Philharmonie, and Amsterdam Concertgebouw, collaborating with conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Claudio Abbado, and Simon Rattle. In Portugal, Juan has worked with leading orchestras, including the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra do Norte, and Orquestra de Câmara de Cascais e Oeiras. He studied conducting under Spanish maestros Miguel Romea and Andrés Salado, leading to roles as Principal Conductor of the Zana Batuta Orchestra and Assistant Conductor for Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Orquestra Sinfónica ESART. Currently, he balances his roles as a performer, professor, and conductor between Portugal and Spain.
